THE CIRCLE OF FIFTHS
There is a theory from Babylonian times that explains........12 months..12 inches...12 hours a day...12 hours a night. It goes like this..
Ten is the number we get from counting our fingers....but to count further i imagine he looked at his hand and decided to count the segments of our fingers...there are three on each finger..and there are 8 fingers.....HO THUMBS. "one hand see will count to 12". Now 60 is 5 times 12....and 6 times sixty is 360...so here you have the number of minutes in an hour...360 days in a year ....and the degrees of a circle....four 90 degree angles...360....so you see "things come in handy" ha ha ha ha
So it's my guess that PYTHAGORAS the one who the circle of fifths is attributed to,,,in the 6th century BC used this theory to form the 12 notes of our chromatic scale for music.
